Began in Borken (presently in Poland) in 1899, with the call of four dedicated and determined Deaconesses who sought to serve the Lord. They lived a service-oriented, celibate life, and proclaimed salvation through Jesus alone. Later, they relocated to Vandsburg (also in Poland), and by 1906 numbered over 300 Sisters. Other Motherhouses and a Brotherhouse were established in Germany, and at the peak of this ministry, around the 1970s, the numbers of Sisters, Brothers, Employees and Volunteers numbered around 5,000. In 1929, the first two Sisters arrived at New York to minister to German immigrants who were adjusting to their new life in America, and as the result of the Lord’s rich blessings,
